The Rockwave Festival has been canceled due to the weather. Here is a statement from the festival organizers. Thanks to Hermia for posting at Sweet Talk.

The extreme weather conditions that occurred today at Malakassa (Region of Attika) from 13.15 pm until 14.55 pm, including intense winds, heavy rain, huge hail and lightning, render the conduct of Rockwave Festival’s 2009, second day 28/6/2009 (with the appearances of The Killers, Duffy, Dinosaur Jr, K. ΒΗΤΑ, Τricky, Eden James, De Niro and Jamerllada) impossible.

It isn't difficult to understand where The Killers' monster of a bassist Mark Stoermer got his nickname from.

And, as the 'gentle giant' of the group makes his way towards your correspondent for an equally gentle handshake, I suddenly begin to feel quite small. A little confused too, as to what a man of his size is doing with such a dangerously relaxed speaking voice and persona.

NME has posted an article with some new dates for the U.S. tour.

The Killers have announced another round of dates in support of their latest album ‘Day & Age’.

The band will kick off the tour on August 31 in Washington D.C. and make stops at a number of notable venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

It is rare to see Brandon Flowers as happy as he was at Pinkpop. Not even during the show by his band The Killers. No, perhaps the finest moment in the life of the singer arrived several hours later. Together with Bruce Springsteen and his legendary E Street Band, he sang "Thunder Road". So special, that the US media reported on it last week.

Months before then, many people agreed that The Killers would be good headliners for Pinkpop. Initially it was thought that the band would close out Monday's concert. This interview with Mark Stoermer took place just before the action at Pinkpop.
